This project was done in collaboration with Uncommon Goods and UIC. The Embrace Plant Stand is coming to the Uncommon Goods store this Fall 2019.

I have always seen plant stands as extremely practical and engaging yet over-designed. My goal from the beginning was to produce a plant stand that was extremely efficient and boring. I wanted my plant stand to use the least material as possible so as to let the plant be the center of attention. My first solution was the STEM plant stand, a solution that used only one material and produced no material waste. In order to meet Uncommong Goods design language, I thought of adding a spin to it and make the wire look like a person holding the plant, a subtle nod to the movement of #embracingplants.
